Text and Fonts
Accessible text and font choices help everyone access and understand your content. This section explains how to choose fonts, adjust spacing, and apply formatting that supports accessibility in documents and presentations.
Text Formatting
- Use sans serif fonts like Arial, Calibri or Aptos
- Use 12 point minimum font size for documents, 18pt for virtual presentations, and 24pt for conference rooms, or other live in-person presentations.
- Use a consistent font size throughout.
- Use a limited number of font variations (max. 3)
- Avoid light versions of fonts
- Use consistent font types and sizes for headings and body text
Line Spacing
- Use 1.5 line spacing to make text easier to follow.
- Ensure that line spacing is consistent throughout the document.
- Avoid single line spacing, which can make text harder to read.
- Use paragraph spacing instead of pressing Enter multiple times to create space between paragraphs.
